A Sonic the Hedgehog 2 remake project in Sonic Mania! Remaking the original game in Sonic Mania isn't all that we are doing however, we are also adding new content to spice up the experience! Such as adding cut zones from the original game, new art, a new OST, and polishing the game in areas that were rough or disliked in the original. Of course this is still a demo, so everything you see here may not be final!

Sonic 3 AIR with sonic mania skins is the closest you'll get to that
the best sonic mania mod of the contest
There's some (quite obvious) S2HD inspiration in the artstyle, which makes this about 5x better, I think it's neat.

You can never go wrong with Sonic 2, and I've got to say......this mod is truly doing it justice.
This is a really interesting idea, I'm waiting for the full version of Sonic Mania 2 on all platforms!
As of October 2021, Sonic Mania 2 has been cancelled.
Amazing! When do you think this will be complete?
For some reason, when i try to move, i just stay in place, but the character still uses their wlaking sprite. The pyshics are broken, hopefully it gets fixed.
Finally with the Mania decomp, this project can go into full speed! Very excited to see what comes from this project!
Does anyone know how to play the game, cause when I downloaded it, it didn't show the game file anywhere in the Sonic mania 2 file
