Sonic Forces Re-imagined - SHC 2022 Demo

Sonic Forces Re-imagined is a project that aims to "remix" the entirety of Forces by adding new paths, new sections, revamped object placement, and more to each stage in order to make them longer, more challenging, and more engaging. This demo features 6 extended stages; all of the stages from SHC 2020 and 2021 make a return, with each sporting significant visual upgrades, dynamic terrain loading (for the 2020 stages), GI improvements, and numerous bug fixes and design adjustments. After being scrapped from last year's demo, Aqua Road also makes an appearance, featuring brand new 2D and 3D sections along with more improvements and additions to the original stage's layout. Lastly, as an extra bonus two new extra stages have been included, featuring remixed level design from Luminous Forest and Park Avenue.

Not only that, but many new secrets and surprises lie within in each of the demo's stages, just waiting to be found...

Each main stage in the demo features:

  • Brand-new sections featuring custom terrain and object placement
  • Object layout changes in the original sections to make them feel fresh
  • New enemies (in Arsenal Pyramid)
  • New gimmicks and/or background elements
  • New placements for all Red Star Rings, Number Rings, and Moon Rings
  • And more...

Additional quality of life features have been implemented as well, such as:

  • Custom rank requirements for all stages in the demo
  • A custom save file (all cosmetics are unlocked by default so you can re-create your personal Avatars)
  • More updates and changes to the improved physics
  • Classic Sonic Improvement Mod compatibility for Iron Fortress

Overall, this demo represents one of the largest updates to Re-imagined yet.

Is there a list somewhere with the stages that were changed? I was watching someone play through it in a call and they were having trouble finding the stages.

Ok it's been brought to my attention that a text file was left over in Reimagined claiming you need to install the Improvement Mod, you do NOT need to install CSIM for this mod to work!!!

I just played all the main levels. This is fantastic so far. Great job to everyone involved with this project. Only issue is that I can't seem to get the CSIM mod working with it. I modified the CSIM files like it says on the CSIM Game Banana page but for some reason all the new terrain included in this mod is invisible if I try to use the CSIM mod with it. The collision is there but the stage is invisible. Is there any way to fix this? I forgot how much I hate Forces' vanilla physics.

It's not currently compatible with CSIM. We're going to add full CSIM compatibility in the future. The version of Iron Fortress in this demo is the first part of that.

custom save does not appear to work? (i boot it and it just starts with all thirty stages unlocked, dunno if that's intended)

The only stages that are supposed to be unlocked by default are the six extended stages, so that would suggest the save isn't working on your end for some reason. I had one or two reports of that happening during playtesting and I'm honestly not sure as to what's the cause since it works fine for people most of the time; only advice I can think of at the moment would be to disable any mods other than the demo if you have anything else active

Ohhh yeah I should've added a note about that, the Quickboot mod specifically disabling custom saves is an issue I've run into in the past actually

it's because iron fortress was added with CSIM support so we added the CSIM stuff by default

hey arsenal pyramid is broken. The double boost segment keeps killing me on the same spot because the meter doesnt fill up enough. Any way to fix this?

If you have any mods enabled other then the demo I'd recommend disabling them and testing the stage again; if that doesn't work I'm not sure how to fix that issue.

its intentional, you are supposed to use the left stick to steer yourself into enemies while boosting to fill up your meter while double boosting now.

Ok, this is actually pretty awesome. Custom camera angles, geometry, even cutscene of sorts. The levels can be actually explored and all avatar wispons are used in different ways and sections. You can master levels and they are pretty challenging to S rank. Even extra stages are also cool and are in some ways better than regular vanilla stages. The mod is great!

My only real criticism is the physics - they feel way to heavy IMO, especially the avatar. Oh, and custom terrain sometimes feel empty and artificial - such as Sunset Heights grinding section (everything after the Shadow encounter).

Other than that - solid stuff.

hi. Did anyone got any problems in Sunset Heights? the second the models don't load and it looks like I'm walking in thin air. any help?
