Knuckles' Emerald Hunt DX

The hit Sonic 2 ROM hack is back, now enhanced with the power of the Retro Engine! In this mod, you can play as Knuckles or Tikal, and search through one act of each of the zones from Sonic 2 in order to find three randomly-placed Chaos Emeralds.

Changes From the Original:

  • Emeralds may now be placed inside of Monitors!
  • The radar has been upgraded to match the appearance of the original from Sonic Adventure, with six stages (transparent gray, blue, green, yellow, pink, red) and the growing effect faithfully recreated from the original SA1 code.
  • New radar sprites, old ones included.
  • All of the Sonic 1 zones are now in the game.
  • Uses the new layout extensions from the mobile versions, with all-new Emerald locations.
  • New pause menu allows you to easily restart the current stage or return to the level select.
  • New menu after the score tally allows you to play the next stage, restart the current stage, or return to the level select.
  • Chaos Emeralds now use their actual colors (S2's levels had to borrow some colors from S1 and S3K).
  • Improved colors on Tikal's sprites.
