Thank you for checking out Mighty and Ray in Sonic 3 A.I.R.
Play as Mighty and Ray in Sonic 3 A.I.R, in the main game without overwriting any of the main cast members.
They're compatibile with the level select, Bluespheres mode, and competition mode.
The Sonic community's favorite armadillo is here and accounted for in this amazing mod. Mighty plays similary to how he handles in Mania. Coming equiped with spike protection and the hammerdrop, which can be triggered by pressing the jump button in mid-air. However, he's got a few additional moves to his roster.
For his second ability, he can cling to walls like in Knuckles' Chaotix. It works similarly, where if you press the direction towards the wall and press the jump button in mid-air, he'll stick to a wall. You can scale the same wall if you press in the direction towards the wall and up or down while pressing the jump button. If you press the jump button while stuck to a wall with no directional input, he'll jump of the wall like a frightened cat. If that's not your preferred way of scaling walls, there's an option to use the Megamix Mania wall cling. While he can't scale the same wall with the Megamix Mania wall cling, you can slide up walls if you have enough momentum from a jump. If you reach the upper edge of a wall, Mighty will boost himself into the air for a short period of time.
As the name implies, he's mighty, so, he can also explore some of Knuckles' routes in AIZ, ICZ, LRZ, and even fight Knuckles' version of big arms. Make sure to keep an eye out for Mighty exclusive paths in act 2 of AIZ and LRZ.
Ray is back for yet a third time to explore the island using his natural ability to glide like
cape Mario a kite. Ray controls similarly as to how he handled in Sonic Mania. If you press the jump button in mid-air, he'll enter a glide and slowly fall towards the ground. If he's facing right, and the player presses right, he'll curve towards the ground, and by pressing left he'll curve towards the sky. This is reversed when Ray faces left. You can gain speed while pointed down, and swoop back up reach great heights. In additon, his second ability the "Air Boost" can be used to gain more height. When pressing up on the control pad, Ray will flap his arms to gain more height so that the player can glide for longer distances.
Not only is Ray a great character to play as, he's also an awesome partner. You can pair him up with Sonic, Knuckles, Mighty, or all of them, and use him like a hang glider to zoom accross the level. He can't use his boost while gliding, and you can only grab onto him while he's pointed upwards.
We hope you enjoy exploring the island yet again as these two goofballs. Have fun!
