Cold Peaks Zone is an not so simple mod that adds a new zone into the game, set on Eastbound Island. In Ice Cap 2, Sonic launches out of a cannon that acts like a teleporter, landing on a cave, and must get back into Angel Island to prevent the Death Egg from launching in Launch Base Zone. But a new bot was built to deal with Sonic in Cold Peaks, Mecha Tails.
You can simply download the mod, enable it in the mod menu and either finish Ice Cap 2, press up when hovering over Ice Cap on a complete save file (Data Select) or press X in Act Select (must be on S3AIR builds from June 18 or newer)
Some things I would like to note:
1. I am not a very good level designer. This level can give the feeling that it does not fit into S3K, as it was made to show that you can add extra* zones into the game.
2. Mecha Tails' sprites can look out of place, as I wasn't the one to make them, only refined them and finished some others. The prototype sprites which I made to be a template for Mecha Tails' spriter are togglable in the options, called Faker Tails, if you dislike the Mecha Tails sprites you can use Faker Tails' instead.
3. This version has code from my Custom Zone Select base mod built in, unlike this mod's other releases, this means you can just install it and play with no dependencies required.
4. If you skip Cold Peaks and go straight into the snow tunnel, you should go to Launch Base, which is using a dawn palette. You may get an bug that puts you in Mushroom Hill Zone instead, and I'm not sure how that happens, but I have tried to decrease the chance of it happening.
*This mod basically overwrites Ice Cap's data after you beat it, so it seems like a new zone.
