THIS IS NOT A CD IMAGE! Please ignore the console name in the "Game" category.
This is a port of the Yuusei demo of Sonic CD to stock Sega Mega Drive, better known as v0.02 or the 1204 prototype. It is directly built off of the R11B__.MMD file in the disk, which originally handled Round 1 Zone 1 Past. This project was started on August 4, 2024 using a disassembly by KatKuriN.
This port features:
This port isn't fully feature-complete. Missing big features include:
Bugs present in the original demo are mostly retained here, but certain ones have been fixed due to the porting method. Those would include:
Another notable feature in this port, Lock-On Technology! This will allow you to play custom user-generated levels within this port without the need to modify the source code! These are known as PAKs, which are appended to the end of the ROM data and detected by the game when it's attached. To use or even create a PAK, download the ZIP file in the "Extras" section, place this ROM in the folder, and run one of the two BAT files depending on what you want to do. Maybe you want to add in your own R2, or want to port another Sonic CD level to feel how it functions in v0.02. The filesizes I set up is the limit! The ZIP contains two BAT files, one to lock on the ROM to a PAK file, and one to create your own PAK file, which you can do by using SonLVL. The template included with the ZIP is Sonic CD's R31D.
Special thanks to the public beta testers for finding anything I've missed.
Additional special thanks to my computer crashing and corrupting my GitHub repo.

impressive
I will say the time stop power up is a neat idea!
I had the idea to make it actually function, but all I got done was the sound driver side of stuff. It's just like the original!
wow.....just wow
An amazing proof-of-concept!!! I really hope this will be turned into a fully-fledged port, it's starting out great. (And perhaps more accurate to the final instead of v0.02)
One thing I'm not too sure about is the use of the Blue Ring monitor in its prototype state; Its effects are basically just Super Sonic minus the jump height, and the Blue Ring being so different to Mania's and Chaotix's will confuse some players who don't know the Sonic prototype lore :p

Anyway yeah, very cool, I had a blast playing through it, can't wait to see where this goes.
My playthrough: https://youtu.be/400oR_AOA8k
It's placed and functions exactly how it does in 0.02.
Custom music was planned for this! Unfortunately, it couldn't get done on time. You can hear some of it here: https://x.com/MDTravisYT/status/1830109821552460252/video/1
Um hey can you please send the video in another way? X was banned in my country by no reason (Brazil) so I can't see your video you posted.
Thanks.
best sonic cd port evah
Very Good
So glad to see CD getting the love it deserves! Would love to see a port of the whole final game, but even if that doesn't happen, I'm still glad this exists.
Ok, pretty good port!
This will ever be completed? MD-Sonic Looks impressive, one question how does Lock-ON affect it? it's just put S&K booted in too?
Please read the description on how the lock on works. You don't lock it to S&K, MD-SONIC itself acts as S&K.
To port a level do you just add an mmd from the final game and create it as a pak?
any plans to do the full game
Does exactly what it says on the tin. Clean port (sans the music, of course).
