Sonic Encore

Sonic Encore is a project that seeks to include the encore mode from Sonic Mania plus to Sonic 1 with some tweaks and changes to the level design to further differentiate the game from being just a Recolor
The project has been around a year in development and almost a year (if I recall correctly) since the first SHC 2023 demo. In that time Sonic Encore has received a complete revamp in every aspect.
Here are some of the features you can find here:
- Renewed zone palettes
- The Spindash
- The Peelout
- The Drop Dash
- Level design changes.
I'll leave the rest for you to discover yourself.
Controls:
- Spindash (down plus any button on the controller)
- Peelout (up plus any button on the controller)
Required Requirements:
- Drop Dash (be in the middle of a jump and press any button on the controller)
- Air Roll (be still walking or in spring state plus the buttons on the controller)
This Sonic Encore demo symbolizes that it is at 25% of the progress completed (there is still a long way to go and I probably won't finish this until next year or more)
"Streamer" Edition:
I'll explain this quickly:
Lately Youtube has been silencing music with alleged copyright (I don't know who is making the claims). Mainly affecting Marble Zone.
Since it is a problem that affects the sound of the gameplays that are made, I have decided to make an edition that removes the most problematic music that Sonic Encore may have.
It is recommended that you use it if you plan to record Sonic Encore. Since this way you avoid silencing the video.

an AMAZING remake of sonic 1 imo, the pixel art is gorgeous
Neat beginning for a hack, interesting music choices, the palletes are OK, and... there is not much else to see here for now.
Wonder what you will bring by next year contest...
I'm honestly surprised at how well Sonic Encore has been received at least in this demo.
Although there are still many more things to do like level designs, start remodeling them graphically, etc... But from the encore team we make sure to try to have a level of quality that is at least good.
And while I'm not making any promises. Encore should be back in the next SHC if the world doesn't turn against me.

An excellent little hack, I really quite enjoyed it! The new graphics are quite nice, the level design could be a little better, but overall very decent for a quick burst of Sonic goodness.

I would love to see this finished at some point. That Sonic sprite is very good.
Defenitly a good hack so far. I like how the spin dash moves the camera to the side a little bit to show whats ahead and the sprites are amazing, they defently feel like something from sonic mania

PD: The status of the hack on real console is uncertain. Please let us know if it crashes or boots on real console in the comments.
