Sonic 2 Restoration Ultimate is a Sonic rom hack that aims to restore some things from the betas, concepts and other things that are not present in the final version of Sonic 2.
It has 5 stages from the beta and another 4 stages from the final game modified, it has beta music and several other things that make the game more similar to the Sonic 2 betas.
Some sprites from the beta are present in this hack, like Sonic and Buzzer (flying bee badnik in Emerald Hill).
The spin dash cannot be charged, it is instantaneous, that is, Sonic/Tails will always roll as soon as the spindash is activated, you can use the button combinations: Up+A and Up+B. If you press only C, Sonic/Tails will release a spindash without needing to crouch.
It also changes the special stages, making them much easier.
The "Snare" instrument from the rom hack is modified, making it sound a little more like a palm, making the songs more different from the originals, as if it were a "remix".

tbh needs improvement other than most of the levels just being palette swaps
Overall, not terrible, but incredibly boring, and underutilizing a very overused concept. Seriously, we have enough Sonic 2 prototype hacks, and this one does nothing to stand out from the lot.
