What is Rey Tracer? Rey Tracer is a mod that aims to fix Sonic 3's terrible collision in the air & ground, even at ludicrous speeds. this includes wall clips, sub-pixel slope stops, and high-speed collision by pre-tracing paths on the ground and air in order to simulate collision before it happens!
The name is a parody of Headcannon's Path Tracer, which is used in sonic origins to fix the same issues. As a bonus, Rey Tracer also includes an option to enable RSDK physics, which removes the x speed cap. this is to showcase the collision resolution fixes at high speeds that Rey Tracer has!
Rey Tracer runs two collision passes. the first one, (the preventative pass) prevents subpixel bugs by averting bad collisions that would normally halt your momentum (while additionally correcting offsets relative to the current slope when a bad collision is averted to prevent clipping), The second one, (corrective pass) corrects collisions during actual movement to fix movements that would result in you clipping into the ground, ceiling or walls.
The mod also provides options to customize trace accuracy and angle limits. by default, Rey Tracer is set to 100% trace accuracy, but for better performance it may be worth reducing the accuracy.
mod priority shouldn't matter, but if you want to prevent any conflicts, then Rey Tracer should be placed at THE TOP of your mods list!
